click to enlarge

You can use VietThai language environment on your Emacs Version 23 or later.

  1. Download VietThai support package for Emacs.
  2. Uncompress and unarchive the package.
  3. Read "README" file.

As the proposal for VietThai script to the Unicode is still in progress, we use the Private Use Area for VietThai characters (U+F000..U+F07E). A VietThai font encoded accordingly is also available in the package.

For this environment, the following three input methods are available;

  • viet-thai-sonla (The default. "VT-SONLA" appears in the mode line)
  • viet-thai-telex ("VT-Telex" in the mode line)
  • viet-thai-kbd ("VT-KBD" in the mode line)

The character set used is Unicode (ISO10646) and the coding system is utf-8 (`U' in mode line).
