As far as I know, the next release will be a bug-fix one.  The
development version can translate between UCS and the Emacs CJK
charsets.  It depends on a new CCL feature for translating through
hash tables rather than the complicated way that Mule-UCS has to do
it.  (There is a patch for that against 21.1 or 2.)  This doesn't
share any code with Mule-UCS, but the translation tables mainly came
from Mule-UCS.
